CampusGhar was built to provide honest, transparent, and student-first discovery for accommodation, marketplaces, food, and local student amenities. Every listing published must adhere to three non-negotiable principles:
All monthly rents, security deposits, food mess charges, and item prices must reflect genuine costs without hidden surprises or false bait rates.
Photos must depict the actual premises, room, item, or kitchen. Stock photos, rendered mockups, or photos of unrelated properties are strictly prohibited.
Listings must accurately specify their distance, landmark, and locality relative to the associated college or coaching cluster.
• Discrimination & Bias: Content that discriminates, excludes, or demeans individuals on the basis of religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or regional origin is strictly forbidden.
• Fake / Bait-and-Switch Listings: Advertising a vacant single room only to redirect students to an unauthorized shared space upon contact is grounds for immediate account suspension.
• Duplicate Spam: Posting identical or near-identical listings across multiple localities or accounts is prohibited.
• Illegal Services & Prohibited Goods: Alcohol, tobacco, vaping devices, prescription medicines, counterfeit books, pirated study material, or any illegal services cannot be listed.
• Impersonation & Unauthorized Representation: Claiming affiliation with coaching institutes, universities, or third parties without legal authorization is prohibited.
To eliminate phantom listings and wasted student inquiries, all accommodation listings (Stay) require regular availability reconfirmation:
• Reconfirmation Prompt: Stay operators receive a reconfirmation prompt every 7 days from their last confirmation date.
• Warning State: Listings unconfirmed for 7 days are flagged in search results with an overdue confirmation notice.
• Auto-Unavailable: Listings unconfirmed for 14 days are automatically hidden from student discovery until the owner clicks “Reconfirm Availability” in their dashboard.
CampusGhar employs human and automated moderation to protect the community. Listings progress through clear lifecycle states:
Students and platform users can report any listing directly using the “Report this listing” action on the listing detail page. Reported listings are queued immediately for administrative investigation. Verified violations result in listing removal and, in severe cases, permanent owner banning.
