Never pay token amounts, advance booking fees, or key deposits via UPI or bank transfer to someone you have only spoken with online or over phone. Genuine PG operators and landlords will always welcome an in-person visit before expecting financial commitments.
Moving to a new coaching hub or college town (such as Kota, Patna, Prayagraj, or Delhi) is a major milestone. Follow these steps when renting student accommodation:
• Visit in Person with a Guardian: Whenever possible, inspect the room, bathroom, water supply, ventilation, and security arrangements during daylight hours with a parent, relative, or friend.
• Verify Ownership & Management: Inquire about who owns and manages the building. Ask for a physical receipt book, business card, or identification from the property caretaker.
• Clarify All Costs in Writing: Ensure that electricity meter billing rate, Wi-Fi charges, food charges, gate timings, visitor policies, and security deposit return conditions are documented before signing an agreement.
• Obtain Formal Rent Receipts: Always demand signed physical or digital receipts for rent payments and security deposits mentioning the recipient's name and property address.
When purchasing study books, calculators, bicycles, tables, or electronics from fellow students:
• Meet in Broad Daylight in Public Areas: Conduct handovers at your coaching institute gate, university library, campus cafeteria, or busy student markets.
• Inspect the Item Carefully: Test electronics, inspect books for missing pages, and confirm operational condition before completing the payment.
• Beware of QR Code Scams: Never scan a QR code to “receive” money. Scanning a QR code authorizes money to leave your bank account, not enter it.
• Request a Paid Trial Meal: Before committing to a monthly mess subscription, try 1–2 individual trial meals to assess food quality, hygiene, and delivery punctuality.
• Clarify Cancellation Terms: Inquire upfront about billing adjustments if you travel home for holidays or exam breaks.

We never claim “100% guaranteed safety” because real-world caution and personal diligence remain irreplaceable.
